SUMMARY:Falcon Heavy Launch Viewing
DESCRIPTION:The last Falcon Heavy launch was in June 2019\, so this one is way overdue! If you’ve been to a regular Falcon 9 launch before and are thinking the Monday morning launch time doesn’t sound appealing\, but have never seen a Falcon Heavy\, then think again. This thing is bright and loud!!! Check out this video Justin took from the 2019 launch at Kennedy Space Center (YouTube). \nThe Falcon Heavy launch has been moved to November 1st at 9:40AM ET. Since this moved even deeper into the week\, we understand that most people are unable to camp out the night before or even attend. However\, some of us are still moving forward with the original plan as stated below\, except for the new date and time. Because there is always a chance for rocket launches to change\, this will be our last attempt to coordinate for this one. Please check for the latest update at the Space Flight Now web site launch schedule following this link: https://spaceflightnow.com/launch-schedule/ \nAs this is a launch\, things can change quickly with delays and scrubs so please keep an eye on the event page on the website and check slack often if you are planning to attend.  \nPlease RSVP below if you plan to come watch the launch with us.

SUMMARY:[CANCELLED] Rocket Launch: SpaceX Crew-3
DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: The Sunday launch has been cancelled for the Crew-3 mission.\nAnyone still interested in watching the launch during the week should follow SpaceX news for details.\nThis week a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch Crew-3\, the 4th Commercial Crew flight of a Crew Dragon spacecraft for NASA astronauts\, to the International Space Station. Given that the launch is currently scheduled for the middle of the night\, we understand not everyone interested will be able to attend\, but we hope you can make it! \nTIME\nThe launch is scheduled for “Saturday Night\,” officially at 2:21AM Sunday\, October 31st.\nThis is an instantaneous launch window\, meaning if it doesn’t happen right at 2:21AM it will not happen. \nWe usually meet at the location at least 3 hours before a big launch like this in order to get a parking space nearby. \nLOCATION\nWe will be watching the launch from our usual spot familiar to many club members\, across the street from the restaurant El Leoncito in Titusville\, at the Kirkirk Point Riverside Park. \nAFTER THE LAUNCH\nI know it will be very late\, but after the launch some club members will meet at the Titusville Superchargers to charge up before heading home. \nRSVP\nPlease RSVP below if you plan to attend! \nNOTE: THE RSVP IS TO GIVE US AN IDEA OF HOW MANY WILL BE ATTENDING THE LAUNCH WITH THE CLUB. THEY’RE NOT ACTUAL ADMISSION TICKETS TO KENNEDY SPACE CENTER. WE WILL BE VIEWING FROM THE KIRK POINT RIVERSIDE PARK\, NEXT TO THE PIER AREA. \n

SUMMARY:SpaceX Crew-1 Mission Launch
DESCRIPTION:This was a great event\, read more about it here\n\nWe are inviting you to another day of fun\, right here in our beautiful state. Like we have done before\, many times in the past\, we are going to Cape Canaveral\, at the Titusville shore\, to be exact\, to watch the launch of another SpaceX rocket launch. \n\n\nThis is a very special launch. After the successful demo launches\, NASA and SpaceX are sending the first crew of astronauts\, on a mission to the ISS. This is no longer a validation test flight. Crew Dragon has been certified for human flights to low earth orbit and the International Space station. \nWe are inviting you to join us to witness the launch of the SpaceX Falcon 9 carrying astronauts to the International Space Station\, marking the beginning of this new era of space exploration. \nLaunch schedule\nDate: November 1th 2020\nTime: 7:27pm EST \nWe are going to attempt to watch the launch together\, as a club\, from the Titusville shore\, in a public location\, that is about 11 miles from launchpad 39A. \nThe location we are going to be watching the launch from\, is a public area\, that has a clear view of the launchpad\, and if we arrive there early\, we may be able able to park all our Teslas together. Please\, do keep in mind\, that since it is a public area\, there is no one to enforce COVID-19 social distancing regulations. We must all do our part\, and be responsible. \nSince the location is basically an open waterfront passive park\, I like to use the address of the restaurant that is exactly in front of our “viewing area”. \nAddress\nEl Leoncito\n4280 S Washington Ave.\nTitusville\, FL 32780. \nThere is a good chance\, that I will drive over the night before\, on Friday\, November 13\, and “camp” in my Tesla\, or at the latest\, be there in the morning hours. I am sure that there may be a large crowd doing the same\, so the earlier we arrive\, the better. Make sure that you plan accordingly. As a club\, we are merely a group of friends with a common interest to have fun with our Teslas\, and to help others do the same. Bring your own food\, or plan to have all the essentials during this informal event. \nThe content of this email is also on the video linked above\, for easy reference. \nI hope we get to meet some of you that have joined our group recently\, or that have not yet been able to attend an event\, since this has been a very challenging for everyone\, not just in our state\, but also worldwide. \nDon’t forget that we also have our club’s online store with the only officially licensed gear to represent the club here. \nFor more details directly from the Florida Department of Health\, visit the web site at floridahealth.gov. \nThe Florida Department of Health has a dashboard that keeps track of all Florida cases. Click here to view it. \nKeep your family and loved ones safe. \nLooking forward to see you soon\, \nRafael Santoni\nTesla Owners South Florida\, Inc.

SUMMARY:Trip to watch ULA Atlas V Mars 2020 Launch
DESCRIPTION:As part of NASA’s Mars Exploration Program\, the Mars 2020 rover\, named Perseverance\, will explore the Martian surface and seek to answer questions about the potential of ancient life on Mars. The rover will also gather information and test new technology that will help address the challenges of future human missions to Mars. Per NASA1\, these tests include “a method for producing oxygen from the Martian atmosphere\, identifying other resources (such as subsurface water)\, improving landing techniques\, and characterizing weather\, dust\, and other potential environmental conditions that could affect future astronauts living and working on Mars.”
