Florida Keys Scenic Drive Gallery

On February 27th, a group of about 50 of our 400+ club members met at the Homestead Florida Superchargers, to go on a scenic drive through the Florida Keys. We briefly visited a park, where everyone had a break to have lunch, picnic-style.

There was a brief chat and then about half the group went on to drive the famous 7-mile bridge at The Florida Keys. This is the first time that we do an event with multiple stops, and we learned a lot about what to do and what not to do the next time.

We appreciate the patience and support from all our club members. Rest assured that this is only the beginning of what we hope will be a great round of future meetups.

Trip to Cape Canaveral for SpaceX Crew-1 Mission

Description

On November 15, 2020 our club met at the Titusville shore, in a great spot facing the Cape Canaveral launch complex pad 39A to watch the launch of the NASA and SpaceX Crew-1 Mission, where a Falcon 9 rocket sent 4 astronauts to the International Space Station, as the first official commercial crewed SpaceX flight.

My name is Rafael, and besides being one of the founders and president of our club, I am also part of a small group of people in the nation that is collaborating with the Tesla engineering team to test the preliminary beta release of Full Self Driving. My car drove me about 98% of the near 200 miles trip from the city of Sunrise to Cape Canaveral for this trip and back home. At the beginning of the video below, I show our arrival at the Titusville superchargers. During my collaboration with Tesla to test the Autosteer on City Streets features of the Autopilot suite (commonly known as Full Self Driving) I test the capabilities and report any issues I can identify to Tesla, and their Autopilot and Artificial Intelligence developers take note for fixing issues.

New Daytona Version 3 Superchargers

The new Daytona, Florida Superchargers are now open. There are 12 v3 Supercharger stalls with a max output of 250kW and 4 level 2 Chargepoint connectors.

The Tesla team has opened up another new Supercharger location. This new location is at another Wawa with 8 stalls and a max output of 250 kW (version 3).

New Panama City Version 3 Superchargers

Tesla’s Supercharging network in Florida, keeps growing. And it is growing fast. The newest location has just opened today, August 28, 2020, with 8 stalls capable of 250kW output.

Fort Drum Expansion Complete

The Fort Drum, Florida’s Turnpike Superchargers, have been expanded with an additional 4 stalls, for a total of 10 stalls.

These are 10 stalls, with a max output of 150Kw. The Superchargers team, has been working hard during this difficult times, on growing and improving Florida’s Supercharger network, and it is already making a difference. New locations are in the 2020 roadmap, as well as adding additional stalls to high traffic locations, like Fort Drum. We would like to thank the Supercharger network team, for all the work they’re doing.

New Tesla chargers at Dadeland Station

Today, a new location has opened with 12 Tesla Urban stalls and 2 J1772 connectors (level 2).

The official site name is Miami, FL – South Dixie Highway

For those unfamiliar with the Tesla Urban chargers, you should know that these have a maximum output of 72kW instead of the 120kW+ found on the Superchargers network. Still, plenty of “juice” for when you need to stop at the mall, or similar venues.

New Supercharger V3 Grand Opening in Miami, Florida

On Thursday, January 30th, 2020 at 10:00 am, the new Supercharger version 3 will have its official ribbon-cutting ceremony at:

Wawa : 6971 Coral Way, Miami, FL 33155

This is the first Tesla version 3 Supercharger to be opened in Florida.

Our club will be present for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Everyone is welcome to join us.
